2800+ Mile Road Trip: Day 8-9

Happy weekend! Many people have asked how Leighton is handling the trip. Well, the change in time zones, car seat napping, and no schedule has made a sleepy and now cranky baby. She has been a trooper but all the traveling has started to catch up with her. I feel bad for her but hopefully we will get back on track shortly.
We left South Dakota and headed to the Wild Wild West with delicious banana bread made by Mrs. Odegaard. And Wes purchased sunflower seeds and beef jerky; he felt like they were must-have road trip snacks.

Wyoming was very pretty. The terrain changed but again we couldnt see anything but land from the highway. The view of rolling hills/mountains decorated with evergreens continued as we crossed in to the the Big Sky state. We enjoyed the view of the Rockies in the distance as well.

We passed through an Indian Reservation and stopped to get gas. The only teepees and dream catchers we saw were at the tourist gift shop store.
We arrived in Three Forks, MT which has the Headwaters of the Missouri river. Just call us Lewis and Clark.
I stuck my foot into three rivers at once. If you click on the picture you can see the three waters flowing in different directions/mixing together. The water was freezing!
Thanks to my good friend Margaret Mahoney, who visits Butte, MT every year to see family, we had the scoop on what restaurants to eat at and a place to stay the night. Her friend at the Silverbow Pizza Palor gave us free tokens to play games so Leighton rode the Merry-Go-Round for the first time....
And it made her spit up ... Thanks Margaret : )
The McNabbs hosted us for the night (my friend's aunt and uncle). We appreciated their hospitality!
Leaving Butte in the morning we passed the "M" and possibly our POD???
As we continued our drive across the entire state of Montana we enjoyed the beauty of God's promise.
And a local Montana soda pop!
We stopped to eat lunch at Durango's, a local restaurant in a small town in Montana. While we were eating, a self proclaimed baby whisper named Marge came by our table and grabbed Leighton from me. I remained calm as she was a sweet lady who meant well (and I knew Wes could catch her if she decided to run).
Our drive continued and we enjoyed more pretty trees as we entered the great state of Idaho.
The view below is in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
 And Post Falls, Idaho.
After driving through 14 states..... we reached Washington!
We made it to Spokane, WA on Saturday afternoon. We are planning on visiting with Katie (Wes' sister) and Marc Austin for a week while we look for houses/apartments in Seattle. They took us to a beautiful park yesterday where Wes and Katie were camera-happy!
Today we went back to Coeur d' Alene (it is a short drive from Spokane) to eat lunch and take a small walk/hike.
The weather is getting much cooler here... so Leighton had to cuddle with Uncle Marc to keep warm.
I will keep you all updated on the house search. We have lost a few places we wanted which can be discouraging. So as we continue to look, please pray that God will provide us a place to live that is exactly where he wants us to be, with the neighbors he wants us to have, and that we will continue to trust in Him.
