Final stop!
We drove over from Spokane to Seattle this past weekend. Again driving during October is beautiful. Fall leaves, evergreens, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, and rainbows make for pretty backdrops.
We also hit the 2800 mile mark for our road trip and passed more windmills. They are huge (compare this one to the cell phone tower right next to it).
During our first week as "residents" in Seattle we have been staying with Katie and Brian Haas plus their 3 children (Sophie, Urie, and Ruby the Cutter). They have been so kind to house us while we have been apartment hunting.
In between looking for places to live we have been out and about Seattle trying to get feel for all the city offers before I start work Monday. Everyone loves being outside so Seattle offers parks anywhere it can...and there is a ton for being such a big city! Save the trees! I'm all for it. On Tuesday, we went to Discovery Park. It is a natural park of over 500 acres located in the neighborhood of Magnolia, a neighborhood northwest of downtown and south of Fremont. I felt like I was on Twlight...walk through woods overgrown with moss.... then into a meadow. However no sparkling vampires appeared.
There was an old lighthouse on the bay which was in the park too.
Leighton napped through half the walk
Leighton checking out more new things...salty water, sea shells, seagulls, etc
It's so beautiful in Seattle. You'll have to check out Alki Beach, I enjoyed it when I was there!
