Fremont: Home Sweet Home

As we are ending our time in Seattle, we had a coworker take family photos. I wanted to remember the neighborhood we lived all these years. We have resided in the same apartment (see original post from 2011 HERE) for the last 6 + years in one of Seattle's quirkiest, eclectic, and liberal neighborhoods, Fremont. We have walked the sidewalks, rode bikes, ate at the restaurants, frequented the coffee shops, thrown rocks in the canal, shopped the shops, went to a gym, checked out books at the Fremont library, walked to church, and more in a 1 mile radius with 15,000+ people! A pharmacist I work with, Harry, does photography on the side. He followed us from our courtyard and around our normal walking loop in Fremont and captured great memories.... see some of my favorites below!
Head left out of the courtyard and walk to the end of the block and take a left...
We frequented Ladro the most as it is the closest coffee shop... many kid + mom dates, coloring, bible studies, quiet time, meet-ups with other ladies, and more have occurred in this extension room of our house.
Continue left out of Ladro past the dog + people eatery we never visited, a sports bar, and concert venue...
Cross in front of the funeral home that had the most green space and a drive way the girls road their bikes some ... then you will land at statue of Vladimir Lenin, a previous Soviet Union communist leader.
At Lenin if you go left you would end up at Fremont Baptist where we held worship gatherings for the Hallows until recently. But if  you go right you pass a little hole in the wall coffee shop Wes enjoyed
Pass a few more shops depending on your route ...
one being my go -to giftstore!
It is always a pretty view past this clothing stores outside area on our way to PCC for free fruit and maybe one item (so good but pricey!)

Passed PCC if you go south you will run into a nice rock climbing set up for the kids and where they have played many rounds of hide-and - seek.
Many of rock throwing and draw bridge watching.... and/or kayak and boat renting adventures on this canal that leads to the East into Lake Union or the West into the Puget Sound
We usually take the scenic Burke-Gilman route along the canal back to Phinney Ave N. If you take a right by Theo Chocolate factory you can get a smell of the factory making chocolate and stop off in their shop for free samples.
As we continue north back up Phinney Ave, the girls would always stop off to climb this tree for as long as I can remember.
Cross 36th street... cannabis store nicely in the background along with a taco truck of course.
And back up Phinney one more block to 3646 Phinney Ave N

Last day in Fremont! Going to stay with our friends, the Hudson's, for two nights as the POD already came to load our stuff today. Leaving Seattle in 2 days on June 11th. Crazy weird!
