Why Move?

So we are officially moving now that God has provided a job for us.....in case you don't now why we are heading northwest.....

We love our family and friends, we love Birmingham AL, we love our jobs, we love our church, we love our small group, we love the South, and we love the cost of living in AL compared to Seattle.....so why would we move 2000 miles away?  Practically, it does not make sense. We know this. And no reason would probably suffice except to spread the Gospel to an unreached people group. We are transplanting our lives to the Wallingford/Fremont neighborhoods in Seattle, WA as core team members of the Hallows church plant. After meeting with Andrew and Kim Arthur (church planters) and other potential core team members for a year, we felt we had to respond to God's call to all believers to go and make disciples of all nations. Seattle is one of the least evangelized cities in the country and the burden for lost souls in Seattle far out weighs our desires to remain in Birmingham, where our families are a close drive away, where we have jobs, friends, and a church. We know that Christ's death on the cross and resurrection from the dead was for the salvation of our souls, and we are letting that gospel drive our actions. The links I provided have more information and will do a better job explaining details of the church plant. Please pray for us to be faithfully obedient to God's call, for God to prepare the hearts of the neighbors and coworkers we will come in contact with, for us to put aside ourselves to serve Him by serving people, for us to decrease and Christ to increase,  and for all the logistics (packing, housing, expenses, etc) involved in moving. Our families are very supportive but I'm sure would appreciate prayers as well!

Be self -controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen
