We made it: Leighton completes Kindergarten!
I say "we made it" because it was a big year for the entire family....getting into the rythmns of school, field trips, packing lunch/snack, carpools and the emotional side of your oldest starting and finishing kindergarten! Leighton loved school. This year they focused on virtues and characteristics of God, hand writing, foundations of arithmetics, and phonic reading. She made sweet friends, enjoyed going every day, did her Monday handwriting homework, and LOVED her teacher, Mrs. Marshman. I think she will miss Mrs Marshman the most as her friends will continue on to first grade with her. She said she wanted Mrs. Marshman to be her 1st grade teacher and every year after that. I have to say she set a high bar for all of the kid's teachers to come. We are so thankful for her and Seattle Classical Christian as we had prayed for over a year about deciding between private, public, or homeschool. We landed at Seattle Classical Christian and so thankful God provided this school. We will continue to take it one year at a time but happy to be there for kindergarten and next year for 1st grade with Leighton.

Today they had an end of the school year class party and Kindergarten Celebration. The kids did several scripture memory verses and chants for the parents and sang their daily song "In Christ Alone" for us. Then Mrs Marshman handed every student a character award. This is basically recognizing characteristics of God and His grace in each child.
