The Lombards Take on Seattle
We were so excited to have Grami come back to visit during a very busy week for us to help with childcare but on top of that we got to have the entire Lombard family! My aunt, uncle and cousins came from KY as well and it was their first time in Seattle. We jammed in as much touristy activities as we could to give them the best views, food, and experiences Seattle has to offer. But there is so much more to do and see in the Seattle area we could not hit everything. I think they got a good taste though... some activities a little more geared toward kids due to our 3. ... such as the zoo.
We took them to Golden Gardens but they also made it to the Olympic Mountains via ferry and Discovery Park on their own.
They did Pike's Place Market and went up in the Space Needle without us, riding the Monorail in-between and we got faces painted at the Seattle Center instead. Oh how things change when you have 3 kids 5 and under in tow.
They enjoyed food in Ballard, Fremont and Greenlake as well as the Sunday Market with us and they saw Kerry Park in Queen Anne without us.
We went to the locks and ate seafood a lot, at Chinooks and Ivars. They ate Ray's while we were at a wedding.
first time leaving Levi with someone other than Wes or I since hospitalization |
We took them to Gas Works Park and they did the Underground Tour downtown with Mom.
And we had plenty of time just playing around our house or the Ballard House (generous friend let them stay in her massive, nice house)
My favorite thing was watching how much the girls took to Sherry, Heather, Blake and Joe as if they see them all time. They felt so comfortable with them and got to know them well. Sadie especially commented several times how much she likes having family around. Tear.
Thanks for coming! And if you are thinking about coming to visit us., you should! We can show you around even if we have to send you to some places alone due to kids and work... just ask the Lombards! Joe and Blake even got in a overnight hike in the Cascades! Below is pictures they sent from their hike.
