The Chronicles of Halloween

The chronicles of dressing up started last week when Leighton's school held a Harvest Party. They told all the kids they could come as something/someone from a book or something they had learned about. Leighton debated between Laura Ingalls Wilder and Kirsten the American Girl. She settled on Kirsten, an 1800s settler from Sweden. She has my old books as a kid and enjoyed the covered wagon, settlement years. We remembered Leighton wearing a head wreath that looked like Kirsten's when she was in Pre-K at Little Feats, HERE. So we asked Leighton's old teacher/Sadie's current teacher, Ms Jill who found it for us!
Sadie was able to dress up on Halloween day for school. She has been genuinely wanting to wear a uniform and go to Leigthon's school for a while now. So..... she chose to be a Seattle Classical Christian Student. She said she was a kindergartener and loved every minute of pretending to really wear a blue plaid uniform.

For trick or treating around the  neighborhood, the kids dressed up as characters from The Chronicles of Narnia "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".

Sadie initiated the idea with wanting to be Lucy. Her outfit was easy as she loves to wear cardigans and dresses. She could wear her normal clothes!
The faux blanket reminded her of the coats in the wardrobe....
Levi was an easy sell as Aslan because I'm pretty sure lions are his favorite animal, he loves to roar, and he is cute and snuggling dressed up as a lion.
He enjoyed a sucker on the walk if you can't tell....
Leighton was  harder sell as she doesn't normally want to be the villain. But she got into character or just called herself the "nice white witch"
Fremont businesses: trick or treating with friends.
Starbucks even gave them free short hot chocolates!
Happy Halloween from our tribe to you!
