Its Pre-K not Preschool
Leighton will correct you in a heart beat if you ask her "hows preschool going?" "It is Pre-K" she will respond matter-of-factly. She loves school. Some of her friends from last year are not in her class this year, so she did say she missed and it made her a little sad. But she still really enjoys going and is making new friends. When I asked her what she wanted to do for work when she grew up she said several options over the span of a few days… they included being a teacher, a Mommy, an engineer and designing houses. We shall see little girls. The engineer came from how she likes to draw a picture of something she is going to create then she gathers the supplies to "build/make" it.
It is like pulling teeth to get her to talk about what they do at school though. I have to think of creative ways to ask instead of "what did you do today at school?" because then she will just reply "everything!" Here are some late pictures of her first day of Pre-Kindergarten at Little Feat Preschool. It is the last year she can attend there as they don't do kindergarten. She goes 3 days per week from 9-12pm. We love all the staff there!
These are pictures from her open house the week before school started at the beginning of September. She loved checking out her classroom and meeting the new teachers. Sadie enjoyed tagging along especially for the celebratory donuts post-open house.
Love these girlies so much! Other random pictures before a school day...
And this is a picture of typical Leighton… I always sing the Beauty and the Beast song when I see her walking around outside with "her nose stuck in a book…." She is sounding out words but so excited for her to really learn to read as I know she will enjoy it so!
