ThanksGiving Tree
Our family is still trying to figure out traditions. Heck we may never nail it down and try something new each year. I found this thanksgiving tree idea online. Ours didn't look as nice as the one online but I liked the concept of letting the girls color the leaves and putting up a fall tree. Each day you take a leaf off the tree and read the bible verse on the topic of giving thanks and tape it to the bottom of the tree. Then I would ask Leighton to thank God for something. There are enough leaves to do it each day in the month of November. I know its already Nov 20th but it could still be good for the remainder of the month or carry it into Dec with your kids. The printable leaves with verses were free HERE And our tree survived a week and half before a Sadie tornado took it down.
This past Tues was our missional community's "play" or fellowship week for the month so we did a thanksgiving potluck style dinner. Since our place is too small to hold everyone at a table, we used one at Fremont Baptist. There was a little less than 20 adults and about 6 kids in the room Tues night. I shared with our small group how cool it was that 3 years ago the Hallows Church had about 20 adults and a few kids total running around that very room meeting for worship and teaching and now the Lord has grown the church to about ~160 people worshipping on Sunday nights with 5 children's classes. He is good. Pictures of us eating at our Friendsgiving.

I am happy Leighton's preschool has continued the thanksgiving spirit. I always enjoy hearing the answers she tells her teachers (i.e. her response below to what she is thankful for)
Grami and Papa come tomorrow and praying for a restful time seeing God's graces for the next week up until Thanksgiving with them. Pictures of Leighton's school Thanksgiving Pageant to come.
