Chugga Choo Chugga Choo. Choo Choo! As mentioned before, Leighton requested her 3rd birthday party be a Thomas the Train theme and that it was. We had just a few friends over the house and celebrated in our courtyard. It was our first friend drop off party so we only had 5 friends over. Decorations were pretty simple as I basically used toys and Thomas items Leighton already had. On the menu was grilled cheese sandwiches in train shapes and grapes. Dessert was cake pops. We kept it simple. Activities included coloring sheets, painting wooden train whistles, me reading a few Thomas books, playing with train set and remote control Thomas on my Duck-Tape tracks, and parachute games. Leighton's friend, Luca, brought an awesome gift which was a bubble machine. We opened the gifts at end of party and gladly put batteries in the bubble machine which entertained kids until their parents arrive.

Little sister slept through the entire party but made an appearance at the end as the mascot...
She ended her birthday day with pizza (her favorite food) from Elemental (if you have kids in Seattle, this is a great place to take them as they bring out dough for the kids to play with while you wait). And afterwards ended with a little
Menchies frozen yogurt! Her day was complete.
People have asked me how the party went…. Leighton said "its wonderful mom" and gave me a hug. I could tell she had fun with her little friends. So the smile on her face and the fact that is very non-stressful for me = successful party! No more party planning for a bit ….well till July for Sadie's 1st!
