Gala and Games!

After some flight issues, we were excited to have Wes home from Charleston. He had gone to chaperone the senior trip to SC and they had some delays getting back. They all missed Wes but Sadie vocalized it the most. Look at that big smile on her face!

But he made it to the WCA 25th anniversary gala the next day.  It was fun to get to go dress up and go with friends to a dinner. Grami was in town so we took advantage of the inhome sitter and went and played shuffle board after the Gala and I got talked into Taco Bell for the first time in 15 years. Allister Begg was teh speaker who did a nice job discussing the value of classical Christian education.

We are very much thankful for our friends we have made here and also worship with at church on Sundays. Below is Devon and Morgan.  Devon is our pastor's wife and her kids attend WCA too. Morgan is a friend and fellow church member. Our family very much enjoys being in community with them all and I know Wes and I have really learned from them in our short time here what it means to deeply care for friendships from and with them. Unfortunately the value in friendships in adulthood is many times dismissed or not cultivated because of busyness, family, etc. So we are grateful for teh Lord providing us friends in Cleveland who also love Him.

And Jackie moved from Chicago last year and we have enjoyed getting to know their family from church and also their kids go to WCA as well.

We are also at this new stage in life where we can hang out with people because we dont have strict bedtimes or babies to feed which is interesting and fun in its own way (though I do sometimes wish I could snuggle baby Leighton, Sadie or Levi again)

But it also means the kids enjoy different activities and we do different things now as a family which is fun as well. I mean Wes and I are always down for laser tag and now we can play with the kids!
Leighton is getting to the stage where she wants to be a friend after shcool or on weekends, so Lydia came with us!

Grami had fun too!

The virtual games are fun but at age 36 I cant handle the stimulation of being on roller coaster so I dont think I need to ride a real one anymore....

Side note: this picture is from a bake off the kids did. Levi gets tired of it but we watch a lot of Kids Baking Championship on Food Network so they like to create and be judged as well.

It wasnt all childcare for Grami. She had time to relax while kids were at school and got to go to school for grandparents day!
