April

In April we experienced some lingering sickness after all of us passed around Flu A. So for about 2 weeks we were home bound. I always find it interesting where I find the kids sometimes and what they are doing. Documenting it so I don't forget things like Sadie standing in front of a window because she said "she was watching cars go by" or Leighton enjoying reading on the front porch. Leighton and Levi will cuddle Sawyer on the floor often, not so much Sadie.

The girls occasionally set up school with their American Girl dolls. Leighton was leading a class her. She comes up with the questions and says she enjoys grading too!

One of the days Wes, Leighton and I were all home from work and school due to the flu the weather was at least nice so we did manage to walk and sit outside some which was refreshing.

But overall it seemed that throughout the day and especially nightly, temperature checks were occurring for everyone!

Except Sawyer....
intermittently they were at school. Below is Leighton's class.

We made some delicious Easter resurrection rolls (marshmallow on the side of a crescent roll to represent Christ wrapped in white cloth. Then as it bakes it makes it sweet and disappears so when you take it out, its the empty tomb. We also covered them with cinnamon and sugar.

For Levi's brithday gift, Mimi and Big sent the boys to a Cleveland Indians Guardians game. They had a great time!

The girls and I went to a movie!
I still love the morning coffee dates on the weekneds. Levi and I enjoy splitting a Cleveland everything bagel with cheddar chive smear at Rising Star.
We gave him Hulk PJs for his birthday and he bough a blow up Hulk with birthday money to match. They guy as had some serious beatings in the house.
And Hulk even made it into some of our family Easter day pictures.
Leighton made us strawberry shortcake for dessert!
And unfortunately we did get a light snow in Apirl!!!
Which calls for indoor reading and homework...
Below is Levi's class fieldtrip to nature center.

Levi enjoyed learning about the various animal units they studied especially the birds and reptiles. On field trips he also enjoys the car pool time with friends.

Random other events this month include a flat tire at work.... the family came to rescue me. Wes tried to teach the kids what to do.

Sadie was really the only one that was paying attention.

My dad was also able to visit for a long weekend during the month. Mom couldn't make it due to sciatic nerve pain :(  Dad does not like to sit around, so while the kids were in school he came down to the Clinic. I showed him around work, my office, of course my favorite gift shop and we had lunch! (picture of mom at wok for you someday, kids) Also.... Dad wears toe tape on his feet for comfort.... as you can see here, Levi requested some too!
The shift from the snow to the pretty booms and nice days happens overnight here!

Papa even babysat for us so we could go downtown and celebrate our friend Devon's brithday with a ping pong tournament at our friend's company building. We had a late night, thanks Dad!

Biking the next day with dad and the girls which included an ice cream pit stop.

Periodically we will find Leighton alone talking to Sawyer or cuddling him. I think he is her outlet when she needs a break. She also picked these flowers and then i found a note with them in the morning "don't touch, for Mrs. Gatinella" her teacher. So thoughtful.
Sadie joined the Rocky River Soccer Organization for our neighborhood this month too. It is like the next step above rec league. She has a couple practices a week some indoor at Force and some outside and usually 1 game.
Lots of projects to wrap up the end of the school year including Levi's country project and Sadie's historical figure project. I was encourage by her person, Perpetua, a young mother martyred for her faith.
Levi being silly with his classmates at school. His teacher sent me this picture!
And when the girls get in a loving mood...
on April 30th we biked to Mitchell's for ice cream to celebrate Levi Lived Day!
And just hung around outside since it was so nice...I love the view of them all reading together :)
Then Levi will leave them and dig up worms and bugs
Good night, April 2022
