Back to Seattle (Closure) Tour Part 3

Continuing the trip.....
Day 6 Mary Ann kept Levi, the girls were still at Arthurs, so Wes and I snuck off to brunch at Portage Bay and then Ballard Locks. There were so many seals in the water there! Then for old time sake, we went to the Ballard Fred Myer (Freddie Mac).
My old coworker and friend, Susan, had me over for lunch while the kids napped. She made delicious salmon sliders and even Indian Chai. She makes the best from scratch.

The the family met at Matthews Beach to meet up with a few old Seattle Childrens coworkers and their families.
That night we had dinner with the Molls and then ice cream at Molly Moons!
And I snagged a couple of pieces of Simply Dessert cakes to take yurting the next day! The best cake!
Day 7 started off with Wes and I grabbing coffee from an old coworkers house, Jeremy, that lived close to Mary Ann before he dropped me off at Seattle Childrens to tour how it has change and get to see some other coworkers. It was so sweet running into old providers, nurses and pharmacy staff I used to work with! After a little State Burger for lunch we drove north to Kayak Point to yurt camp with 5 other families! (19 kids and 12 adults!) It was an absolute blast. Of course my dear friend, Mary Ann, made it so easy for us by getting us the yurt, sleeping bags, and food prep we really just showed up! Levi did help her with kabob prep :)
I mean there were so many highlights of the weekend camping (Day 8-9) its hard to pick the best. From the beach we saw seals and gray whales (!), beautiful sunsets and rainbows, lighthearted and deep conversations around the campfire, good food, lots of kid laughter/ no fights, and thanks to Colin MacMillian fun marshmallow games of Chubby Bunny and an epic mallow fight. It made Sunday saying bye at the yurt so hard. Watching the kids tear up, choked me up again. We all just get along and enjoy each others company that it makes it so easy even after 3 years.

Courtney was so kind and surprised me with the most delicious blackberry macaroons because I had commented how good they looked when she posted them online. So kind.

Chubby Bunny! Levi got two, Sadie got 4, I got 7 but the winner, Jenn and Colin had like 13-14!
The marshmallow fight starts out as Colin throwing one at Andrew but then more joined in. When I saw Mary Ann throw one I knew everyone would be in for a fight. So fun for the adults and kids.
The last night's sunset and rainbows!

We packed up and headed back to Mary Ann's that morning so we could go back to Fremont one last time. We walked through market, went in shops and had Un Bien again.
Ladro again and a walk up our old street. This time the new resident was coming out the courtyard so she let us in to look around, reminisce and the kids saw their hand prints in the concrete.
Then we said goodbye to the Arthurs at the new Hallows location! They have bought a building in Wallingford which is very exciting! We met them there and prayed over them and for space to be used to glorify God.

Before bed we fit in a little more ice cream, Salt and Straw, from Esther that she brought over to Hudson House!
Packed up Day 10 morning and said good bye to our gracious and generous hosts and friends, the Hudsons!

One last Top Pot Donut run on way to airport!
Good bye Seattle and Mt Rainier!
