Back to Seattle (Closure) Tour Part 2
Continuing our trip Day 4.... on Tuesday ourselves and the Hudsons rented a little boat to take out on Lake Union and picked up Ivars on the lake. It was so lovely. Great company, beautiful views of downtown, mountains and float planes, and familiar food. The kids and Wes stopped by the Fremont troll for a little climbing and then to Salt n Straw for ice cream in Ballard.
Sadie with ocean and Canada in background.
I got apple cinnamon crepes before catching the Ferry, we had Uneeda Burger for dinner, and then girls night out at Hot Cakes! So much food to consume every day!
That night we went to Golden Gardens because it was clear skies that would produce a great sunset. Several families and friends met us there and it was so good to catch up if even for a bit. Wes and I grabbed Billy Beaches sushi on the way for the picnic dinner.
Day 5, Wednesday, we headed out early with the Hudsons and Delaney to go to the Olympic Mountains. We loved taking the ferry and exploring all of peninsula before so we decided to day trip there.
We ferried from Edmonds to Kingston then drove to Hurricane Ridge for the best views around. On one side is snow covered mountain range and the other is ocean and Victoria BC. We then drove to Lake Crescent for views and a hike to Marymere Falls before driving/ferrying back. Of course a crepe from the Kingston side before leaving!
Oh and Mighty O donuts that morning! Levi correctly identified a flavor as coffee that Wes and I couldn't figure out.
Lake Crescent and hiking amongst the ferns and tall tall trees to Marymere Falls.
If you want to go down memory lane, here is the LINK to when Wes, Leighton and I first visited the Olympics, Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent and Marymere Falls in 2012 !
