Snow Day

After the CATS win this morning we decided to take  the girls to play in some snow. Leighton had told me on Christmas Eve that the first thing she was going to do when she woke up on Christmas morning was get dressed and run outside to see the snow. Snow had been in the forecast periodically for Christmas day but then later in the week changed to 41 degrees and cloudy. She was so excited for the chance of snow. It was heart breaking to tell her it wasn't going to happen. Even though today was Dec 26th she was excited to drive toward the mountains in search of snow. Hyak Snow Park  (where we went in 2013) was full (as expected being a Saturday after a holiday) so we pulled off before Snoqualmie Pass (like we did last year) at an exit and just found a hill and some land to play in. Sadie got snow in her boots and once her feet were cold she was done. Leighton really enjoyed playing in the snow, making a snowman and sledding a little.

The snow always makes the best pictures. Im not a photographer but I guess the light reflecting off the white background does the trick! Warm weather activities are more my thing (beaches, swimming, tennis, bikes) so I happily just watched behind the camera as Wes played with the girls. Im glad he likes the cold.
A mini Frosty or Olaf I think
