3 P's for the Win: Party, Park, Papa

Last weekend our church hosted the 3rd annual Park in the Park neighborhood cookout. We do this to serve the community and allow for connections to be made. Dad and 2 friends, Mark and Jackie, from his church came to help out. They advertised for us and served at the cookout by grilling or in Dad's case watching the girls so we could meet new people. No rain this year and Wes had positive interactions with one of the neighbors who had previously protested the event and our church. I think they are becoming good friends. Thanks for all the prayers. So cool seeing grace in the situation.
I had fun face painting the kids. I also realized it challenging to paint a wiggly canvas :)
There were yard games, bouncy houses, bubbles, face painting and food.

the girls loved the bouncy houses. they napped well.
My Lonnie welcoming people. So sad she is moving...

We managed to sneak in some quality time with Papa while he was here visiting. Taking in a baseball game, playgrounds, playing cards, reading books, viewing sunsets, and eating a lot of ice cream!
This is when Sadie was going nuts at ball park because the Mariners hit a home run! She became a baseball fan after this game. Leighton on the other hand got in the car and said "I don't want to go back to a baseball game. It is too loud. I want to go to the library." Oh my heart, what a sweet little reader you are baby.
We also went to support the BBQ the Hallows Expression in West Seattle . I had never been to Lincoln Park before but it was so beautiful. We need to go back.
Till September Papa! See ya soon.
