GiveForward
Hello lovely friends and family,
I know it is the holiday season and people are asking you to give for ____ charity, ____ organization, buy ____gift, donate to ____ cause and on and on. And here I am, asking for you to open up your heart, your resources, and prayers for one more. My heart is breaking for the woman and her kids who spent Thanksgiving with our family. She has agreed that we can share her story, though she wants her name to remain anonymous as she has left multiple abusive relationships in the past including a recent domestic violence situation. She is brave. She is strong. She is alone. Our family is physically here with her and can provide emotional support. We can't however provide the financial support she needs at this time without you. Our goal is to get her and her kids in an apartment with a 12-month lease paid for as soon as possible. She is living in hotel rooms and shelters with 3 kids and one on the way. The newborn will be here soon and I can not and will not let her be living in her van or bouncing from place to place during this time. She gets up early, takes 2 kids to daycare, 1 kid to the bus stop for school and then heads to work for 8 hours at her job before picking everyone up, feeding them out of her van and then sleeping in a shelter at night. She desires to work on spelling and reading with her kids and wants to have more time to sing with them but is utterly exhausted and has absolutely no support system as she is a refugee. Please join me in relieving the stress on her. Join me in bearing her burden. Let us rally together and lighten the load for this very young mom. Let us provide grace and offer ourselves to her. We can sacrifice a few of our wants/desires to provide a basic need of shelter for this family, I just know it. In addition but most importunely let me not to forget to ask for prayer. I do not believe she is a believer and above all I desire for her and her kids to know Christ. That is the only true hope offered.
Thank you for responding to God's call in Matthew 25. Please share the link below with as many people as possible. I appreciate your advocacy more than you know.
In His Name and for His Glory,
Casey
