Swim Day Snow Day

It had been forever since we had taken Leighton swimming so we decided to go to an indoor pool one morning for Leighton to play and Sadie to experience the pool for the first time. They both loved the water. We need to make this a regular activity because the Mountlake Terrance Pool is great. If you live close, take your family because the kid area is big and even Leighton can touch most of the way.
I thought we were going to escape the Arctic Blast, that the rest of the country has been experiencing, but the cold temperatures set in last week and the weekend brought snow! Leighton was very excited and wanted to sled. The last time we had the sled out was about year ago exactly when Papa came to visit! Urban sledding on sidewalks…. yes the snow may have almost melted but we did it anyway!

Having a 2 year old and a 6 month old is not always splashing in the pool smiling or sled rides of joy…. sorry grandparents, sweet Leighton is not immune to sin. The selfish nature quickly arises when she wants to play with something Sadie has or she has a recent attitude that has developed (scared for teenage years). It is hard to know how/when to show mercy when she is disobedient. I know we don't get the wrath we deserve from God and he is merciful and gracious… sometimes hard to replicate that relationship when your child is being defiant. But I also understand God's love is strategic and our relationship should look like a father/daughter not a grandfather/granddaughter. Anyway… caught one of these moments below…..
there are times of playing together….
 or alone time is needed….
and sweet moments of love are the best….
