End of School Year Festivities

May is always extremely busy as school comes to an end. The kids' school is always full of end of the year activities as well as friends birthdays it seems.

Levi finished 1st grade. Throughout the year there were ups and downs for me anytime he wasn't understanding a math concept or not reading as many words per minute as they desired. I would worry that the spiking activity firing in his brain was causing damage and like all things it was out of my control. But Ms. Somers, his teacher, was very helpful and kept us reassured when we needed it or sent home extra work for him for various concepts. Overall he learned and improved I think alot. His character award was prayer. His teacher said he kindly prayed for others and always volunteered. I hope prayer, or dependency God and willingness to submit all to Him, will grow in Levi.

Sadie's character award was hospitality as her teacher, Mrs. Mattingly, said she felt welcomed by Sadie in her first year at WCA as well how she welcomes others in the class.

Sadie burning school work after last day.

Sadie presenting on the Battle of Hastings and her tapestry sewing was  Harold during in England as William the Conqueror invaded.

Leighton really enjoys being with friends and as 6th grade wrapped up she had several birthday parties, play dates, and fellowship time with classmates. Her character award was integrity. That is something I can not teach but pray she holds fast to.

Last day of school!
