Basketball Birthday Brunch: Levi is Seven!
It was a last minute birthday celebration for Levi this year but I wanted him to be able to have a party with some friends. This is his first classmate/friend birthday party. In the past we either celebrated with family and/or family friends. Unfortunately his birthday is the week of Spring Break so a lot of classmates were out of town but sevent friends were able to come which ended up being a great number.
All week he has been so excited. He passed out the invitations in class, invited his teacher, communicated daily status updates on who can attend, helped me decorate 4 days early and decided on the order of party activities (we discussed routinely at bedtime all week).
We served sausage links, bacon, monkey bread (as the cake),
fruit and donuts.
The real heroes of the party were Leighton and Sadie. I
asked them the night before to be incharge of entertainment and games for the
kids. They came up with a list of games that included around the world,
basketball triva, pin the basketball on hoop “Dunk it”, and arm wrestling. They
also recorded each winner and announced them coming in to the Bulls Intro (Sirus by Alan Parson Project) in their
party favor sweat bands. They also organized the gift giving session and bagged the trash. They were thanked for their efforts with bubble tea. The
girls did state afterwards they were exhausted.
Levi laughed so hard that he pinned his basketball on his
friend Nolan.
Leighton also spent her own money on Pokémon Legos for Levi and Sadie made him
coupons to use.
