Levi had his repeat 24 hour EEG this past week. He had had the one
on 8/15 that looked worse with “discharges” or “spikes” of epileptic activity.
The provider was concerned that this activity could cause issues even though he
was not having actual seizures. Levi then started on a steroid burst, with a
plan to taper over several months. He had repeat EEG on 9/27 and it looked
dramatically better. The steroids worked and I am so thankful for all the people
praying and asking God for His mercy. I was not overly anxious which I also
appreciate the Lord’s grace but I was still very overjoyed with the news. The
plan now is to slowly taper his steroids until Feb and then get a repeat EEG to
see if it is still under control. The spikes and/or seizures can still come
back so our prayer is they stay low and eventually that he outgrows this epilepsy
all together. The Lord continues to teach me that these life circumstances will
come and go and He is in control in the valleys and the highs.
Leighton loving on him at church. The girls share with their class and others to pray for Levi.
He asked for me to hold his hand the day he got the EEG leads on and the next day when they took them off. I liked it. It comforted me too.
He did good with getting leads put on and carrying his monitor at home. He never complained about this or taking his steroid pills. Levi does enjoy riding to work with me, visiting my office/making signs, getting Starbucks at work and visiting the gift shop. I try to make it fun.
My parents were able to visit as well last week. I had missed them as it had been awhile since we last saw each other and a lot of life had happened too with my anxiety, Levi's test and Dad in India. They spoiled us per usual and we enjoyed going to the girls sporting events and a Guardians game. Sadie's soccer team actually got their first win in a tournament. Sadie was pumped.
Guardians Game! Sadie tried hard to get on the jumbotron again but didnt succeed this game. The kids enjoyed eating mostly and our friend John joined us.

And other activities and personalities to document!
We walked to the Rocky River High School homecoming fest ivies. They had food trucks and a parade before the game. Sadie and Levi enjoyed collecting candy they threw to the kids. It is nice to be able to see people from our neighborhood and connect more at events like this thanks to meeting families from Sadie's soccer team.
Afterwards two of our friends, Rachel and Mary Grace, came over for a fire and yard games (they brought light up Can Jam which Sadie thoroughly enjoyed)
Westside Market and Sadie being Sadie.
Our friends/neighbors, the Baumgartners, invited several families to their hunting club for some outdoor games and dinner. It was a beautiful night with a lot of fun and good food. The kids really enjoyed shooting, catching fish and being with their school friends!

Our friend, Jim, turned 40 this week. We had celebrated with him in AZ this summer but never hurts to have cake now. It is weird to have friends turning 40. It is weird to be 37.
