Life Lately

I try to take at least a 30 minute walk in the evenings and I usually end up somewhere by the lake to catch a pretty view. This is the usually view (above). Sometimes a kid joins me on a scooter. The view in the backyard where we will occasionally find Levi is sitting on Sawyer's back. Or we find that he has "cleaned" or "set up" his room in some way. I find it so cute to see how their thought processes are executed.
We have been attending some of the free music festivals in our neighborhood and surrounding with friends after church on Sundays when we can. The Missi family joined us for one and the kids ran into other friends they knew from school.

Before we went to the Smokies we stopped for a night in Louisville and stayed with my college friends Amber and Chris Cowan. Ashley Hamilton and her family also came over to hang out during the day. It was so encouraging getting to hear what was going on in their lives and catch up. Also sweet to see our kids easily  playing together!
Lots of afternoon pool visits to the Rocky River pool. The kids love it and Levi has really improved on his swimming. I dont let him go into the deep end alone but he is working hard.
Leighton and I matching at the neighboring pool, Bay Village, with friends. The kids would cheer during the break for the dads as they went down the straight slide to try to slide all the way to the edge.
Occasionally the night temps have dipped into low 70s so Wes has made a fire.
Per usual, Levi likes us to lay with him while he falls asleep so capturing my usual set up of reading with a flashlight.
There has also been several lemonade and/or jewelry stands. The kids make so much money in a couple hours because people don't want change and our generous to the little workers. Sadie realized on their first one they had to split it 3 ways with a neighbor girl so I wasnt surprised when I saw her out on a random Thurs afternoon working the stand alone in order to keep all proceeds. We did have them set aside money to give away to the Cleveland Pregnancy Center.
And I usually still take a kid for a morning coffee date on Sat or Sun when I can. If it is not a coffee shop date, it is a bike date to Lake Rd Market.
Levi's favorite game is Rat-a-Tat-Cat right now... so that means many games a day! And if not playing cards, he is usually knocking our neighbors door to play with Theo. Theo is 3 but loves Hulk like Levi.
I never take pictures at work but I took this one of our PGY2 resident's going away party. Maybe it will help me remeber some of the peds pharmacists I work with at the Clinic.
On the 4th of July we got together with our good friends here at the Kohls' house for a shrimp broil and yard games.
Leighton baked for the 4th of july!
Other friends from WCA, the Douglass' invited us to their evening 4th of July. The kids enjoyed their hot tub. By the time it was time to watch fireworks we were so tired that we went home.

Leighton couldn't even swim the next day. She was worn out from the holiday festivities.
Some of our friends from church, Mary Grace and Rachel took the girls to their house to bake pies. So we took Levi out for sushi and he liked it!
Leighton is back to training for cross country so Wes has taken them up to the Rocky River high school track to get energy out some mornings. Leighton also seems old because she mowed the lawn for the first time.
Our church held a party in the park. Beautiful day to spend playing outside with friends.
Leighton and I learned spike ball and Sadie dominated old and young in the gaga ball pit.
Levi and his friend Levi Kuszmaul.
Mary Grace invited me to celebrate her birthday with her friends at a Cleveland Guardian's baseball game. Thankful to spend the time with friends who I feel known and still loved with.

Pictures from Blake and Erin Lombard's wedding!

Goodnight from our little jersey wearing six year old!
