Nolin Lake and Unexpected Change in Plans
Our plan was to spend a week at Nolin Lake at Michael and Katie's house. The Dudas family would spend the first weekend together, our friends would come for a few days in the middle and then the Moore/Austin side would come at end of week/last weekend.
We started out per plan with a lot of fishing, tubing, swimming and fun!
Sawyer even made the trip. He was good sleeping in basement for coolness and wandering around off lease outside.
Then Levi went to Grami and Papa's house for 2 nights and Morgan and John came down to Lake House.
Levi got one-on - one time and his plan was to head to Mimi and Bigs the following night before we picked him up. We stayed at the lake house with girls and puzzled, chilled, sunset cruised and enjoyed hanging out with Morgan and john for 2 days. I even tubed because Wes was driving instead of Michael :)
We ate good too... fried fish with the Dudas' and chicken with the Heberle's
Then late Monday night on our 13th wedding anniversary I got that dreaded call from mom that Levi was seizing at their house. They did what they were told and gave him Diastat, called 9-1-1 and then us. We immediately drove to Hopkinsville hospital to meet them. By the time we got there he was talking and doing well. I stayed on the phone with dad the whole 1.5 hour drive listening and asking/answering questions. Praying intermittently and asking others to pray. His left side was weak afterwards which temporary paralysis can occur after seizures but scared us due to his brain bleed history. Due to history JSMC didn't feel comfortable sending us home so at 3 am we rode via ambulance to Vanderbilt Childrens ED. There wasn't more they could do so they discharged us. However he did have a fever at time of seizure and then began a 24-48 GI virus vomiting and diarrhea that morning which was likely trigger/lowered threshold. Sweet little boy was precious the whole time and just kept asking to go back to grandparents house. We are so thankful he was with them instead farther away at lake. They heard him immediately and gave medication. I know it was traumatic for my parents but I am thankful the Lord spared me seeing him this time. Since then he had a Keppra level which was low so we are increasing his dose to a normal dose and ask for prayers for all of us to rest again in how the Lord held us, no more seizures, and ability to see His grace and not fear. I shared this quote with some of you but it is good. Elisabeth Elliot said "It is Christ in me. Not me in a different set of circumstances." I want to remember this because since this event we had surgery for Sawyer after he ate something at Lake House, car issues, confrontation with a coworker, and challenging/patience testing moments daily with kids. It will always be a circumstance, good or bad. How will I react, adjust, rest, grow in them? What will I turn to or Who?
Before we headed back to Cleveland instead of the lake house we went to see Mema. I spend most of my days cuddling Levi and then we made it back to his doctor appt by Friday.
