Camping Trip: Index WA
We finally made it camping! The last time the ol' tent got use was Sept 2015 just after we found out we were pregnant with Levi. We didn't go anywhere last summer following Levi's hospitalization in May. It was nice to be able to do something the whole family enjoys and get to include Levi now!
I had a couple days off from work so a friend told us about a campsite, The Landing, he found that is privately owned. We found it on Hipcamp and it was so awesome. 16 acres and a private, fully equipped site on the Skykomish River by Mt Index just 1.5 hours from our house in Seattle. Win!
literally the view from the fire pit at the campsite |
We told our friends, The Arthurs, we booked it and they decided to join again as they had been to the spot the week prior.
Leighton (6), Sadie (4), Delaney (6), Addy (1), Levi (1), and Asher (3) |
Here are some (okay many) pictures. I think I have a lot of Addy and Levi. She is just 3 month older than he and their little relationship, communication, and care for one another was so cute I couldn't stand it! There are many pictures of tubing, rock throwing, roasting marshmallows, hot chocolate/ coffee drinking, little sleeping, swimming, cooking, reading, card playing, campfire chatting and hammock-ing.
Don't worry Mom and Dad. The water was shallow where they are walking. |
Sadie loves to sweetly care for those younger than her. |
We all enjoyed climbing on the rocks!
The private beach with rocks and shallow water was amazing.
I think Levi loves Kim because Addy looks like her :) |
The above picture is what you desire but the picture below is actual reality. Not much downtime with 6 kids ages six and under, but occasionally one adult did get a little quiet time.
You get the idea? Pretty pretty pretty.
And I had to take this pic for my father-n-law. Evidently we were in the area of the Cascades where they are doing Big Foot research.....
