Beating the Heat

Well in a city where many (including us) don't have air conditioning.... this week of 80s and 90s temperatures is our version of a heat wave. How have the Moore's beaten the heat over the past week...

1. The girls have been cooling off daily during swim lessons. They finished this week jumping off the diving board which was a huge accomplishment. Next week they will resume even more comfortable. After we got them goggles we can't keep them from going under the water! I was a fish kid growing up and I want them to enjoy (and be safe!) in the water too!
2. Going down to the canal and letting the kids wade in South Lake Union. Levi throws rocks.

 3. Participating in the Library's reading club
4. Making Mud Pies and Taking Mud Baths

5. going to local beaches like Golden Gardens in Ballard
 He loves throwing rocks.
It looks cloudy in these pictures but it is actually smoke from B.C. It would have probably been hotter this past week if the smoke had blocked some of the sun's rays.
jumping over waves the cruise ships were sending
I do miss white sand beaches but still thankful for the beach option!
6. Hammock-ing anywhere but even in the courtyard
This is not really cooling off but Leighton lost her two front top teeth this week!
The mornings and evenings can still be cool enough to need a latte or hot chocolate :)
