San Diego Dudas Family Trip

The Dudas Family did San Diego this past week. Wes, Leighton and I (and Sadie in the belly) did San Diego 2 years ago (HERE) as a last hurrah before Sadie joined the family. We enjoyed their beautiful weather so much that when we all started talking about a vacation together and Katie threw out San Diego, we jumped on it.

So...I literally took too many picture so my camera. I don't know how I even decided which to put on here but wanted to share a "few" of them that hopefully encompasses the whole week. We spent our time around the house/pool we rented, the beach, a day trip to La Jolla and the aquarium, Zoo Safari, the Zoo, snuck in a surprise concert, a baseball game, and a lot of ice cream. Here's to family time. I enjoyed watching the kids play with each other and getting to hang out with brother and sister n law. I treasured walking with Dad and appreciate Mom's willingness to always sacrifice missing something to babysit during naps/bedtime. I miss them all already.

The house exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed staying in Coronado.
The house's beautiful outdoor space including a pool we heated to bath water : )
Leighton's week would not be complete with out dressing up. Mom brought her this mermaid outfit and she loved getting into character around the house and outside in the landscaping.

The kids literally loved just running around in the sand, dipping their toes in the water and chasing seagulls.
Wes and I trying to relax while they were building behind us… only seemed to last 5 minutes before you have to get up for something.
Even in the evening after dinner they still enjoyed running around in the sand.  Connor and Sadie had the best time chasing each other.

Looking back we could of left San Diego Zoo Safari off the agenda. It is a neat place and great for the animals but too much land to cover for kid and it was hard for them to see all the animals. So the highlight for the kids that day was riding the carousel.
Sadie's favorite animal was the tiger
Later in the week we went to San Diego Zoo… it was easier for the kids to see the animals but it still wore everyone out. Leighton was so excited to get her face painted at the zoo and of course both girls insisted Sadie get it done as well.

Zaxby's was having their 25th anniversary and was having a concert on the beach in front of Hotel Del Coronado for about 200 people. We joined a couple thousand other people behind the fence for a free Tim McGraw show as it was only about a mile from where we were staying. Crazy!
The first day we were there we went to the aquarium which was pretty small close to La Jolla. We did enjoy seeing the wild sea lions on the beach at La Jolla Cove afterwards and getting lunch in the pretty area.
And it never hurts with 1 and 3 year olds to find a playground.
We tried to take pictures of kids in matching clothes. It was like herding cats. Therefore some of the best pictures were of them just playing …. like Sadie putting Grami on her shoulders or sweet pictures like Papa retying Sadie outfit.
Will miss this beautiful family!
We also visited a fellow church plant, Cataylst Church, in San Diego that we found on the NAMB website. It was fun to worship with family and another church body.
A trip wouldn't be complete if Dad didn't find a game somewhere. We watched the Padres get beat by the Astros.
Mom and L made a little beach in a box craft too...
And the kids might have enjoyed bath time together the most….lets be honest :)
We recommend San Diego, specifically Coronado as a family vacation spot. Great weather year round (literally 75 degrees, sunny and no humidity) with a beach and plenty of day activities! Till next time San Diego! Now…. back to work, real life and responsibility….
