Little Firecrackers

Friends put out a "M". I guess for "Merica"
Happy 4th of July everyone. I spent part of the day at work and Wes was with the girls. We did get to go over to some friends house to enjoy a potluck and some yard games. It is nice to have welcoming friends in Seattle because no matter if it is Thanksgiving or The Fourth, I still miss my family when holidays roll around. This holiday I think our family is all over the US. We are in WA, Dad is in Utah, Michael and fam are in Louisville, In-Laws in TN, Mom is in Eastern KY, and the Austins are in Kansas! Some day we will spend a holiday together!

We have had hot weather for the PNW lately… okay so 1-2 days it got to 90 degrees (and no humidity) so thats not too bad but when no one has central air conditioning it can be hot. No need to worry, that only happened for  a couple hours in the afternoon and quickly returned to 70s or less in the evenings which makes it bearable to sleep. The heat wave has passed for now. Actually July 4th is said to mark the beginning of summer in Seattle. I think I have said it before but the nice weather here is really July - September, hint hint if you want to come visit us! Also unlike the most of America, we won't experience any thunderstorms but the fireworks going on will be the closest thing we have to thunder and lightening. Unfortunately (but really fortunately because the days are long) is that it stays light till 10 pm so the firework shows start too late for our family to attend because of sleepy little girls.

These girls have different personalities but are each little firecrackers in their own way. Here are more pics of my loves from the past week or so….
Look who is looking so mature
she likes cooking, balls, knives, and banging pots and pans right now
proud she stole my camera cap
walked down to the store to grab butter one morning… girls out in their PJs, rain boots, and curlers. Take the girls out of the south but can't take the south out of the girls?

Leighton loves having friends over. Thanks for playing, D.
Also thanks for praying for Block Party. It did rain a bit but we still had a good time. Girls below doing bubbles and face painting!

Leighton went with a purple dinosaur
I scored a date with this guy this week. Another day date, yay!
Cheese! Leighton snagged your pic! Have a good weekend.
