Busy Week: Heat Wave, Baby Shower, The Fourth, a Parade, and Boat Rides

Over the past week we have been enjoying the nice weather in Seattle. Most people here are complaining about the heat but I wouldn't call 75-90 degrees with no humidity unpleasant or a heat wave. It is probably because it is rare to have AC in your house. Anyways we have had some fun in the water last weekend....
Leighton loved being buried at Alki Beach in West Seattle
Enjoying Golden Gardens
Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the view
Our friend's parents (who are also our friends) have a nice house on Lake Washington. We were over at their house and Leighton got so excited to ride the boat. She even got to drive!
Cheryl walking Leighton to the dock
Sam and Leighton
Jess letting Leighton cool off
And this weekend we went to Soundview Playfield wading pool to cool off
The forth of July was also this past week and we celebrated at our friend's house. The company and food were great and I also enjoy watching Leighton interact and playing with friends.

Also during the week, our normal missional community meeting became a surprise baby shower for us. They gave us exactly what we needed... diapers, wipes, supplies, an adapter for infant carrier for BOB stroller, etc. We love our group and it is so nice to have their support when we are far away from our family... awesome community. They even got Leighton a gift too, which she adores!

This weekend we attended Wallingford's (the neighborhood next to Fremont) Family Parade and Festival. It was just a small local parade but reminded me of the ones I used to go to in Hopkinsville growing up. It was Leighton's first parade and I believe she enjoyed it. I at least know she enjoyed the elephant bouncy house at the park afterwards!

Wes had the interns from church pass out information about the Hallows upcoming Sports Camp that we are putting on July18-20th since there was a lot of families present at the parade and festival today. We are hoping to serve the children in the neighborhood, especially the kids at BF Day School, and connect with their parents. Please be in prayer for attendance and all the logistics that go into putting on a summer camp. We are nervous about having kids come so if you could say a prayer right now... that would be awesome!
