Hocking Hills Camping

I read Anxious Generation and on impulse booked the family a camping trip for 2 nights (all we can handle on the ground in a tent) at Hocking Hills (3 hours southeast from Cleveland)

Lucky for us I booked a group site which made it spacious compared to single sites. And we didnt know it ahead of time but there was a nice salt water pool right next to us which was great since it was so hot!

We did get drench on a hike but it ended up being a shared family memory. Hocking Hills is a gorge with caves and waterfalls. I am sure there is more to do than what we saw but the hikes were great and convenient to the state park.

Wes brought his blackstone, many coolers and plenty of snacks. We ate well.

We brought plenty of books, bible studies, board games/cards, watercolor sets, and acquired a sling shot for entertainment. The kids had their bikes and we also brought a BPB (big purple ball) for our family time of "keep up".  Sadie keep us laughing with glow stick hula dancing. The negatives were Sadie having a bike wreck and being awoken to construction one morning.

And as with camping, there is a more downtime than you realize when out of your house for sitting in your own thoughts, conversations and listening to music.

nothing says learning patience and team work like two sisters putting  up a tent together.

The first night the girls slept in their own tent. On the second night, Leighton opted for the hammock so Sadie moved in with us and Levi.

We were one tired family on the way home...but had to stop at a local fruit/veg stand.
