12 Years of Sadie!

Every time Sadie turns a year older, I am always surprised. Instead of thinking "how is she that old?!", I go to "she is only ___ years old?!" It is probably because she has an older sister but she can fool us on her age. Well now she is officially twelve and will be heading into 7th grade/upper school this year.  I asked her what job she would like to have some day and currently it is either an interior designer or a buisness woman (CEO or Sports Administration).
All the qualities I saw in her at 1-2 years old still apply now. Reading old comments like "Miss Personality", "funny", "full of life", "up for anything", "Mommy's girl" are still part of her and yet she is maturing and growing in compassion, self awareness, and a great sense of humor.

Sadie invited several girls and guys over from her school for a cookout party. They played yard games and enjoyed eating/laughing together. A little boy, Jake, from her class likes her and they have been talking and hanging out some in group settings/with family over the summer. It is cute (not serious) and he made her a thoughtful gift of her favorite fruit (mango) and gave her a key chain from the roller coaster they rode together (and held hands on!).

She chose Nothing Bundts Cake lemon flavor!

Little brother sad when the older kids didnt let him play

Morning gift opening to spread out the fun. She request buttermilk pancakes from Wes too.

Literally the best gift receiver. Grant it she did make a detailed list that ourselves and the grandparents/aunts & uncles stuck to but she does a great job showing gratitude and excitement.

They are having fun "getting ready" these days into outfits :)

Sadie chose Barrio for her birthday dinner as a family.

Happy Brithday Sadie! I have always loved and enjoyed you but this has been a special season!
