Christmas Day

Christmas morning! Our only traditions that have been consistent each year have been getting a real tree, eating monkey bread on Christmas morning, and doing a daily advent devotion/lighting candles. I enjoy all aspects of these rhythms. We try to space out the gift opening with the 5 of us on Christmas morning and is another reason I wrap everything that can be wrapped. We try not to be excessive in gift giving but also enjoy seeing their excitement in opening what we hopefully believe will be thoughtful gifts. As the girls have gotten older they like to also give gifts to us and grandparents which is usually something made.
New helmets is always a good thing :)
I think Levi enjoyed his money safe the most, Sadie enjoyed her watch and soccer jersey, and Leighton enjoyed her wireless headphones.
We decided to drive south on Christmas day since the weather was better, low traffic and no other plans. Not many restaurants were open for dinner on the road but we found a Japanese hibachi restaurant south of Cincinnati that proved to be very delightful for all.
We broke up the drive by staying Christmas night in Louisville at Michael and Katie's. They were gone when we arrived so we just played with all their toys :)
The next morning we made the rest of the drive to TN. Merry Christmas!
