Holland on Lake Michigan Camping

First time for all of us in the state of Michigan! I looked up the closest camping on Lake Michigan from Cleveland and we ended up at Holland State Park.
But on the way there we stopped in Lansing MI and got Detroit-style pizza. It was good!
First stop before camp was the Saugatuck Dunes State park. The kids appeased me and let me take pictures of them.
Camping!
Lake Macatawa was across the street from the campground and fed out into Lake Michigan.
Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan really did feel like we were at the ocean!
Sadie did cartwheels everywhere! She has been inspired by Tokyo 2020 and wants to take gymnastic lessons.
Per usual smores at night!
And hot chocolate in the morning.
Wes always makes sure we eat well.
The next morning we hiked by our campground; Mt. Pisgah which was a "mountain of sand" but had great views and nice boardwalks through the woods.

Holland's downtown was so cute and of course we hit up the chocolate shop!

The kids just like being in the tent. They enjoy playing in there and even bedtime :)

The beach was lovely and weather not too hot. Water was chilly but kids enjoyed playing in the abundance of white sand. And I enjoyed reading my first leisure, fiction read in 10 years, Where the Crawdads Sing.
We saw a huge ship come through that was headed back to Cleveland OH.
So weird how they are old enough to make their own lunches now.

There is a lot of Dutch influence in area too!

I had a little headache and had to lay down for bit. They are so sweet and happily cuddled.
We hope to go back to Michigan!
