Double Digits for Leighton (and Sawyer turns 1!)

Leighton turns 10! Every year, every kid, I get blown away with them aging and now I have a 10 year old. I remember being pregnant and wondering what she would be like... thinking wonder what she will be like at 5, 10, 15, an adult.... Well at this point Leighton has gifts of discretion, discernment, wisdom, and gentleness. She can get fired up, irritated at siblings, and lash out some but that is not her common demeanor nor the one she knows is best. Seeing her weep over those sins is encouraging because everyone of us is broken and in need of being saved. Seeing Leighton recognize that more this year and professing her faith has been so sweet. Leighton still enjoys reading alot, playing volleyball (Mom got her Crossnet which is basically four square in the air and fun for all! recommend!), playing tennis, piano lessons, learning about history and math, conversations and baking. She makes pancakes and can sew.  She likes to dress comfortable and doesn't care about fashion but appreciates a good costume. Basically I hope she takes care of me one day.
Leighton wanted to celebrated her and Sawyer's birthday together this past Saturday because we will be out of town on Sawyer's actual birthday. She has aged to the point where for her birthday she wanted friends from her class over, to make Sawyer a cake, no theme, and just play/water balloon.

Leighton made Sawyer a peanut butter and banana cake for him to eat and then she request chocolate cupcakes!
