Countdown to the Superbowl and the Worst Statistic
The Superbowl is so close, three days to be exact. Whether you are a Seattle fan or not, I don't know how anyone could not think the last 5 minutes of the Seahawks vs Packers game was not the most exciting 5 minutes of football in a long time. Almost every play was a hail Mary, even the on-side kick and coin toss fell Seattle's way. Wes had already gone to set up for church so he unfortunately had to just listen to it on the radio. I was screaming and the girls joined in to make me not feel alone.
We are definitely excited for Sunday's game. It will be fun, hopefully. But what is not so glamorous and thrilling is a horrific statistic and a reality in our country. Superbowl Sunday has historically been the biggest day for sex trafficking in our country. I don't know if you all saw the special documentary, "A Path Appears" on PBS or Nightline this past Monday night but it is eye opening. There will be two more shows on Feb 2nd and Feb 9th that Im sure will be worth watching as well. I believe their book comes out in September.
