Favorite Things: Two Years Edition

Another update on things/products we love. Just like I did at 16 months7 months, 6 months, and 2 months here is what I think has been great for a two year old!

 1. Regalo Toddler Cot: need something that can travel for camping or grandparents house for your toddler that now sleeps in a big bed and have a new baby who needs pack- -play? Cheap and Leighton approved.

2. Skuut Balance Bike: we got it complementary when we bought our BOB Stroller off craiglists and Leighton has been trying it out lately. In theory I guess we go straight from this to regular bike and skip training wheels....

 3. Melissa and Doug pretend- play food: when we bought the plastic food it just rolled everywhere and was not really able to be played with. Since Melissa and Doug use velcro, Leighton can actually play with food by putting icing on cookies or cutting watermelon...she has these three and loves them! You can even decorate the cupcakes.

3. Osprey Backpack: Since Leighton is too big for our previous love, the Ergo carrier, we use this backpack in the neighborhood, at zoo so she is high enough to see animals, and of course hiking!
 4. The Busy Bags: they have been a success so far! I can vouch Leighton has been entertained for 20-50 mins doing one bag and that has been crucial when I have been alone with both girls.
5. Pretend Play: the stuffed animals and baby dolls have really made a hit recently as she becomes Mommy, Doctor, Dentist, Restaurant Cook or Patron, Grocery store clerk or "shopping lady" (as she calls herself), Gymnastic Coach, Teacher, etc. I almost got rid of some recently but glad I held off as she has plays with them a lot.
 6.  Parks and Wading Pools: as always we love the abundance and proximity to home. Thanks Seattle for investing money to make them clean and new!

But my favorite thing about this age (Im pretty sure 2 years old is the best age) is her little personality, our conversations, her questions, the way she remembers details, songs, etc, and her recent interest in snuggling : )

And this is too funny not to share.... caught Leighton in her own world "pumping" like I do for Sadie. Ultimate pretend play. It is scary how they become such mimics.
