Birmingham "Road" Trip
It was not a joyous reason to travel to Birmingham but a sweet time. One of my best friends' sister passed away. Mary Ann lost her sister Beth after a long battle of melanoma. She had been diagnosed when we lived in Seattle together. I had only met Beth once but felt like I knew her after years of praying for. I wanted to be at the funeral to support Mary Ann and her family. My mom was already visiting so Sadie and I flew to Nashville then Mom drove us to Birmingham. We stopped at the infamous Buckee's along the way and were able to stay with Mary Ann and Lauren (flew in from CA). It was good to catch up with them, remember fondly Beth and mourn together. Sadie was my travel buddy and roommate. She maturely handled hanging out with adults, the funeral, and was a fun companion to have along. We drove back to Mom and Dads for night before flying back to Cleveland the next day. Sadie had a blast trying on Grami's wedding gown!
