May Mayhem

The end of school is always a busy time. Many school projects, field trips, and  parties. It is hard to keep track of who needs a disposable lunch, who has a dress down day (no uniform) and who needs a poster board.

Leighton as Sacagawea. She gave a persuasive speech on why she (Sacagawea) should be able to join Lewis and Clark on their exhibition.

Levi was Caser Augustus for his living history presentation.

Levi was Goliath for his class chapel play.

Leighton learning to pump gas. She is really wanting to try new things and grow.

Speaking of growing, for the parents as much as her, we let her bike to school the last couple of weeks with 3 other friends from our neighborhood who also go to WCA.

Leighton and Levi playing together. She did more and more babysitting for us this month!

Sadie's 6th grade teacher, Mr. Pfeiffer, gave her the character award "Leadership". I can see it too and I pray her confidence and leadership skills grow in humility.  Sadie with her friends Addy and Harper.

Mrs. Wolff, Levi 3rd grade teacher, gave him the character award of "passionate" as she said if he enjoys something or learns something he is eager to share with classmates.

Levi living his best life playing Mario with his older friends

They had a flower making section at the Derby Party, which I loved.
Our friends, the Ryans, invited us to go their Boy Scout Derby Party. It was a lot of fun with them and the Beavers.

Leighton made Derby Pies

Sadie gladly makes me list of things she "needs" from CVS

Levi has been in a Lego phase

last running club practice for Sadie and Leighton
Sadie had 6th grade promotion where they are celebrated and welcome into upper school for next year. She already knew she was joining the house of Galileo because Wes and Leighton are there. She had fun dressing up and frolicking with friends.

Sadie and Levi still aggravate each other in case you were curious.

Leighton has been asking us for an iphone as she prepares to head into High School. I've known the things this book points out but it was good hear and think through as we prepare to enter this stage of potentially more screen time. It is a great read for anyone with kids or without as it looks back on the short history of the smart phone which is mind blowing that it is was less than 15 years ago as it seems like they have always been.
