Summer Growth

how cute it is it to get selfies they take together ?!?!?

That's a wrap on summer. It was full of activities for the kids. They tried new things (Levi tennis/piano; Sadie and Leighton- away camp), they continued to work on interest (Levi- baseball/ tutoring; Sadie- soccer; Leighton babysitting; drawing; basketball), and were stretched in new relationships (Sadie and Jake and Leighton and friendships). It is fun to have a front row sit to seeing them be grow physically, mentally and spiritually. God is at work. It is good, hard, fun and new! Wes and I are enjoying each stage even when we mourn the loss of the baby, toddler, and little kid phases. And speaking of growing, they all got taller and Leighton passed me in height. She is now 5'5".

Leighton and Bella shopping
Leighton is most likely to pick up markers/pencils to color/sketch/etc while she usually listens to a podcast or book

Levi will play tennis anytime! He loved it and I loved giving him more practice

Wes and I enjoyed Red Clay Strays at Jacob's Pavillion

And I love seeing the kids volunteer/serve however they can at church

Levi and Wes have kept the dog-sitting business going

Much of Levi's summer outdoor time is playing with Huck and Theo

Two moms took Ella, Lydia, Maggie and Leighton camping for 2 nights to Kelly's Island

I usually get an eager body to join me at Starbucks for bible study time

And sometimes they initiate and play together. Leighton and Levi biked to beach and drew each other one day on their own.

Fun to take the girls to see Freakier Friday with Morgan

No matter how old they seem, the girls will still dance/sing and be silly in their room and Levi can still thrive on a playground!

In case you are wondering what Wes did this summer... he pastored well (funeral/relationships), spent intentional time with the kids and was the ultimate taxi driver for the kids' activities! I still worked all summer but did take off when I could. Pictures memories from work.

I also have spent my time maintaining and growing my friendship with Martyna. We facetime almost every weekend to study a section of Mark (slowly making our way through) and during the week she is asking good questions and devouring any readings/podcast I throw her way!
