Aloha - Levi's 9th Birthday, Pearl Harbor, and Luau - Oahu HI Part 3

We were only there for week but I am already on Part 3...so many pictures and memories to capture...

Levi turned 9 while we were in Hawaii! On his brithday, we planned for Pearl Harbor Memorial/Museum, drive over to Ford Island and then a Luau at night. The girls were more interested in the history of the Pearl Harbor attack but Levi has THE BEST time at the Luau and was prefect way to celebrate him.

Ford Island

Hanging around at the Austins and shopping for Sadie a luau dress on base during the day.
We went to the Paradise Cove Luau and would recommend for any tourist wanting a typical and yet jam packed luau experience on the water. The kids got to learn to hula, get up on stage, hold parrots, play yard games, take a boat ride (hump back whales cresting in the distance was a huge bonus!), enjoy traditional hulu dancing/costumes/fire show, pig roast, buffet food, watch a man scale up a palm tree for coconuts, get "tattoos", shop for a souvenior, etc etc. Everyone had the best time and said it was one of the highlights of the trip!

You know he is having a good time when he is dancing!

Levi loved getting his picture made with "Maui" as you can tell by the big grin.

THey gave the kids a "certificate" for hula dancing lessons and Levi was the only one who quickly signed it when we got back to Austins and packed it in his suitcase.... so sweet.
