Carousels, Mini Trains, Ponies and Sports Camp

The end of Grami's visit ended with a zoo trip, a trip to Country Village (aka the Big Chicken), and being spectators at Hallows Church Play Dayz Sport Camp. I think Grami did a lot of wrestling Sadie in between.

Somehow out of all the places in Seattle and the NW, we have been to Country Village three times. It seems to be a Grami favorite :)  It had been 2 years since we had been there (HERE) but the little train rides were still going strong. This time Leighton was old enough to ride the ponies and she enjoyed it. She channeled her inner Merida from Brave.

Sadie was too short to ride the ponies so she just heckled the ones in the field saying, "come here horsey" The horse finally came.
The train rides continue. Sadie was a little nervous but Leighton enjoyed riding in the little red caboose solo.
And Grami spoiled Leighton by taking her to her first pedicure/manicure. She enjoyed it and sat quietly just watching and taking it all in!
always brings a book!

Lastly, Wes and many others have been serving at Play Dayz Sports and Rec camp. This is the third year that Hallows Church has put on this sports camp for the neighborhood kids age 5-12. It is a low cost sports camp and all the money goes back to the local elementary school, BF Day, PTA. The camp continues to grow each year, this year 50 kids participated. A team of volunteers from a church in OK continue to come each year and help out with the camp. Wes appreciates them and all the people from our church who served this week. Hopefully the neighborhood was served well, the kids had a great time, and relationships were built.
Thanks again everyone (Mary Ann!) for all your help this week. I know Wes appreciated it so much.
